Lacks Information

Throughout the years the official Call of Duty strategy guides have become lighter on content and in number of pages. This year's edition unfortunately continues this trend and has left me very disappointed.
Most players play COD for the multiplayer. The guide does a below-average job in describing the weapons (not much more in-depth than the in-game descriptions). The most glaring omission in the guide is the fact it does not give you the level unlocks for weapons, perks, score streaks, etc. As a "strategy guide" and reference I find this to be unacceptable. The guide does not provide recommended class builds for each game type and personal playing style as in the past for any newcomers nor does it provide challenge descriptions as guides in the past have done. The best information the guide gives for multiplayer is the weapon ROF, reload speeds, and damage across distance charts.
Treyarch's COD also provides the zombies mode that has a loyal following. This guide gives basic descriptions of the mechanics of the zombies mode and light strategy (such as shoot the zombies in the head). There are not any maps for the zombies mode and no information on the zombie campaign.
The saving grace for this guide is the somewhat detailed single player walkthrough. This area is the most comprehensive in the guide. It provides maps, strategies, recommended loadouts for each mission, and the location of collectibles.
Suffice to say I was very disappointed with year's guide as well as the fact they seem to get worse and more condensed each year. In the past the guide's offered more than just basic gameplay mechanics (it is a simple game for sure) and added value by including lots of detailed information on weapon performance, how to unlock the hundreds of in-game challenges to earn XP, camos, personalization items, etc. Without these detailed pieces of information, as well as information on the zombies mode, there really isn't a need to get this guide to be told to go shoot other players, shoot zombies in the head, and other no-brainers. This guide is very vanilla and feels very rushed--even to the point of grammar errors. It looks great as a collectable but I would recommend saving your money and getting the more detailed information from the many other resources that are out there.

Useful for Campaign and Multiplayer

Campaign:
I have been using the guide while playing the campaign and I must say it's pretty useful. You have the maps to guide yourself on the game, you have the spots where you can get the accolades. It suggest you the loadout for each mission which is great because some missions work better if you follow the recommendations.
In conclusion the guide covers in a very detailed way what reffers to Campaign.
Multiplayer:
For MP the guide explains what you need to know about weapons, maps, etc. No big info for strategies but still useful.
Zombies:
The section for zombies is just a TOUR GUIDE, just a few pages to explain the very basics of this game mode. What the guide states regarding this is that "Prima games wants to respect the gamers by not giving any spoiler related to Zombies so go and find yourself all the secrets". I think this is ok, but AT LEAST they should have provided a map. Shadows of Evil is fun but is not that easy, some more info would have been very appreciated.
Actually I am not giving 5 stars for this fact.
In general is a very good guide, a must for any CoD collector,

Black Ops III Hardcover

I sort of have an obsession with having the strategy guides for my games, and hardcover is definitely preferred for as often as they are going to be used. This is definitely no exception. It, just like many other strategy guides, pretty much walks you through everything. From the basics, to challenges, to weapon power and spray. It's a pretty handy little guide to have sitting around for my games.
It did come with a Juggernaug bottle opener, which I didn't even realize when I ordered it. That was a nice little bonus. :)
